Part 19 – Hide and Seek

The First Mate of the Crew has been defeated, but the Captain’s location hasn’t been discovered. As the Party venture further into the Cove, they find a well lit room with nought but a stone door at one end. In the centre of the room, a pedestal holds a small button and a plaque that reads “X Marks the Spot.” This room has been built to hide something, or perhaps someone? If a Party member pushes the button, a transmutation spell transforms their hand into an ornate hook. The hook glints in the light, and is made of stainless steel.

Things to Prepare:

  • Solution: The Ornate Hook must be used to carve an X into the door.
  • A well lit room, with distractions and hints to help with the puzzle.
  • Some Pirate themed decor – maybe the pedestal has a ship’s wheel on it.
  • Something to up the pressure, maybe the hook harms the Party member wearing it.

On Success: The stone doors creak open, revealing the room to the Captain’s Cabin.

On Failure: The Party struggles to open the stone doors, and must try again.

Reward: A meeting with the Pirate Captain that has caused so much chaos.
